7 impactful Ministry PILLARS
FIND YOUR FIT BELOW
At Southeast Atlanta Seventh Day Baptist (SDB) Church, we are guided by the two greatest commandments found in Matthew 22:37–40: to love God wholeheartedly and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
To live out these commandments, our ministries are shaped by seven biblical, mission-driven areas (pillars): prayer, worship, teaching, fellowship, evangelism, service, and discipleship. Each area is designed to deepen our faith, strengthen our relationships, and equip us to serve both the church and the community.
In addition to these ministries, our committees work faithfully behind the scenes to support the church’s financial and administrative needs.
We invite you to explore the opportunities below and discover where God is calling you to connect and serve within our church family.
PRAYER
The Prayer Ministry is a welcoming space where we come together to seek God, lift one another up, and stand in the gap through faithful prayer. Rooted in Scripture and guided by love, we pray for our church, our families, our community, and the world. Whether you are new to prayer or have a long-standing prayer life, you are invited to join us as we grow in faith and experience the power of God together.
WORSHIP
The Music and Worship Arts Ministry exists to glorify God by leading the congregation into meaningful, Spirit-filled worship. Through music, song, and creative expression, we seek to create an atmosphere where hearts are lifted, faith is strengthened, and God is honored. Whether through singing, playing an instrument, or supporting worship behind the scenes, this ministry welcomes those who desire to use their gifts in service to God.
TEACHING
The Teaching Ministry is devoted to helping believers grow in their understanding of God’s Word and apply biblical truth to everyday life. Through Bible study, Sabbath School, and discipleship-focused learning spearheaded primarily by the Education Committee, we seek to equip individuals of all ages to grow in faith, live with purpose, and walk confidently in God’s truth. Ministry branches include Men's, Women's, Young Adult, Youth, and Children's Ministries.
FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship Committee is the heart of hospitality at Southeast. It is dedicated to creating opportunities for our community to gather, share meals, and build meaningful relationships. In also includes the Usher Board. Combining the roles of welcoming, seating, and social fellowship, this team ensures that every person—member or visitor—feels the love of Christ.
EVANGELISM
Rooted in love and compassion, the Evangelism Ministry reaches beyond the church walls to share the message of Christ. It is committed to sharing the hope of the Gospel through authentic relationships, loving conversations, and visible acts of faith. Using outreach, personal witness, and community engagement, the ministry seeks to share the good news and welcome others into fellowship and faith.
SERVICE
The Service Ministry exists to share God’s love in practical and meaningful ways. Through efforts such as our church food pantry and community outreach, we seek to meet real needs, offer hope, and extend compassion to those we serve. Guided by faith and driven by love, this ministry provides opportunities for members to serve with humility, generosity, and purpose.
DISCIPLESHIP
Our Discipleship Ministry is rooted in loving relationships and intentional spiritual care. It reflects the heart of walking alongside one another in faith—encouraging, affirming, and supporting growth in Christ across generations. Through connection, mentorship, and shared life experiences, discipleship becomes a journey where faith is nurtured, joy is shared, and believers are strengthened to live out God’s love together.
